What is Clooz?
Clooz is a mobile app for iOS and Android that turns a city into a walking mystery. You pick a story, walk between real landmarks, listen to the audio narration, and solve clues along the way to unlock the next directions.
Create a free account, or sign in with Google or Apple, to save your progress and pick a story back up on another device.
How it works

What Happened to Tyyne?
On a Saturday evening in November 1932, someone pushed a note under the door of a Helsinki police station: "Tyyne Helsinkiläinen is dead. I am sorry." Seven words, no signature - the rest is for you to find out.
Walk 1930s Kallio through the places Tyyne lived, baked and danced, and answer the question her sister carried for the rest of her life: who was sorry, and why?

The Long Way Out
Summer of 1975. It's past midnight but it isn't dark yet in Katajanokka. You're peacefully taking the long way home when the prison's alarm breaches the silence - minutes later, you're being enrolled to help the guards find the escapee.
A paced discovery of Katajanokka island, where Art Nouveau meets sea views and war history.
Questions
-
Do I need to book ahead or meet a guide?
Neither. There is no guide and no time slot. You pick a story and start it whenever you like, on whatever day suits you. Some stories may be limited to the opening hours of landmarks along the way, but that will always be specified on the story page.
-
How long does one take?
Stories range from about 30 minutes to 2 hours. The length and the distance are on every story page, and you decide how fast you want to take it. You are even welcome to take breaks along the way.
-
Can I play with other people?
Yes. Clooz is built to make a solo experience perfectly immersive, but one phone between two or three players works well too: everyone sees the same clue and gets to argue about the answer.
-
Is it a guided tour or a game?
Both at once. You get the real history of the place, wrapped in a mystery you have to solve to keep going.
-
What if I have to stop halfway?
Stop wherever you like. Your progress is saved, so you can pick the story up later the same day or come back another time.
-
What does it cost?
For now Clooz is still being perfected and is therefore completely free of charge. We ask that you help us make it better with detailed reviews and feedback instead of money. As we grow we will ask for a small fee per story, or offer passes for a specific duration or location.
